Claude certification results: what the score report shows, when it arrives, and what to do next

Claude certification results are shown on screen at the end of the exam, online through OnVUE or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The score report has three parts: a pass or fail decision, a scaled score between 100 and 1,000 where 720 passes, and the percentage of items answered correctly in each domain. A copy is emailed and stored in your Pearson VUE account; test-centre candidates also leave with a printed report. After a pass, Credly emails the badge separately, usually within minutes online.

What the Claude certification score report shows

All four exam guides describe the report in the same sentence: a pass or fail status with a scaled score from 100 to 1,000, plus the percentage of items answered correctly within each content domain. The format does not vary by exam. The report for CCAO-F looks like the report for CCAR-P; only the number of domain lines changes, seven for the associate paper and the professional paper, eight for CCDV-F, and five for CCAR-F.

When do Claude certification results arrive?

Straight away, in both delivery modes. The Partner Academy certification FAQ says you see your score on screen at the end of the exam, and that test-centre candidates also receive a printed score report. A copy is sent by email and stays available in your Pearson VUE web account: from the dashboard, under My account, choose View Score reports. There is no waiting period for a scored result and no separate "official" result that follows later.

How the pass or fail decision is made

The exams are criterion-referenced: you are measured against a fixed standard, not ranked against the other candidates that week. The guides say the passing standard came from a formal standard-setting study of what a minimally qualified candidate should be able to do, expressed as a cut of 720 on the 100 to 1,000 scale. The CCAR-F guide adds why the scale exists: scaled scoring equates results across exam forms that may differ slightly in difficulty.

Two consequences follow. First, no raw-to-scaled conversion is published, so nobody can tell you how many items 720 represents on your form, and a scaled score is not a percentage. Second, the domain percentages sit beside the decision rather than inside it: the guides state that section-level percentages help you understand your performance and are not used to determine the pass or fail result. A weak domain does not fail you by itself, and a strong one does not rescue a low total.

How to read a domain percentage without over-reading it

A domain percentage is items correct over items in that domain. On a 60-item paper with seven domains, the 10 and 12 percent domains hold only around six or seven items, so a single miss moves the line by 14 to 17 points. On CCDV-F the smallest domain is weighted at 2.6 percent of 53 items, which is roughly one item; its line can only read 0 or 100. So read the wide domains as evidence and the narrow ones as a hint. A 40 percent on a 15-item domain says something; a 50 percent on a two-item domain says you missed one question. Compare the report with your own practice error log before deciding what to restudy, because the report cannot tell you which item, which option or why. A practice score is not a readiness verdict, and mock results are practice data rather than exam data.

After a pass: the badge and the 12-month clock

The score report is not the credential. Anthropic issues the badge through Credly, and the FAQ says the Credly email usually arrives within minutes after an online proctored exam and takes a little longer after a test-centre sitting. The credential is valid for 12 months from the award date. On-time renewal is a free, non-proctored assessment on the Partner Academy; a lapse means the full exam at the full fee. The date on the badge, not the date on the score report, is the one for your calendar.

After a fail: the retake rules and the 14-day appeal window

A fail starts a waiting period: 14 days after a first failed attempt, 30 after a second, 90 after a third, with at most four attempts per exam in any rolling 12 months. Each attempt is a new purchase at the full fee, $99 for CCAO-F, $125 for CCDV-F and CCAR-F, $175 for CCAR-P, with your partner-tier discount applying to the retake as it did to the first sitting. If you believe the result is wrong, the guides give you 14 days from your exam date to raise it with Pearson VUE support via the Anthropic programme page. The Certification Exam Policy sets the same 14 calendar days for appealing any final Anthropic decision, counted from the notice.
