A failed Claude certification retake can be booked 14 days after a first failure, 30 days after a second and 90 days after a third, with four sittings of the same exam allowed in any rolling 12 months. Every attempt costs the full exam fee, $99 to $175 by exam, and your partner tier discount still applies. The Claude certification retake policy is identical on all four exams. The score report shows a scaled score and percent correct per section, never the items you missed.

Nothing below changes between CCAO-F, CCDV-F, CCAR-F and CCAR-P except the fee. Every row traces to the official certification FAQ.

A worked retake timeline
Count from the day you fail. The Claude certification second attempt can be sat on day 14 at the earliest. If that also fails, the third opens on day 44, and a third failure pushes the fourth to day 134. That fourth sitting is the last the rolling year allows; a fifth waits for the first sitting to age out on day 365.

How to read the score report
Start with the distance. A 700 and a 550 against the 720 cut are treated identically by the retake rules and very differently by a study plan. Anthropic publishes no raw-to-scaled conversion, so the gap cannot be turned into a number of items, but a near miss usually lives in one or two sections while a distant one calls for a full second pass. The 720 passing score post covers what the scale does and does not encode.
Then weight the section percentages. On CCAO-F, Output Evaluation and Validation carries about 13 of 60 items and Troubleshooting about 6, so 50 percent in the first loses roughly twice what 50 percent in the second loses. Rank sections by weight times shortfall using the published domain weights, and read what a domain score means before treating one percentage as a diagnosis.
Finally, accept what the report withholds. The report does not name missed questions, the options you chose or the reason each failed. The breakdown says where to look; only your own practice error log says why, and the Cred Farmer repair heuristic follows from it: one clear weak area in both suggests targeted repair, while several weak areas or a repeated error pattern call for a full second pass.
How to use the Claude exam retake waiting period
The Claude exam retake waiting period is the earliest you may sit again, not an estimate of how long repair takes. Spend it on the sections the report ranked highest, then on fresh timed checks. Practice sets are finite, so how many unseen mocks remain decides what evidence you can still collect, and common Claude exam mistakes names the shortcuts to watch for. The earliest date is not a reason to rebook
Being allowed to rebook on day 15 does not make you ready on day 15. The wait is a floor, the fee is charged either way, and the fourth attempt is the last the rolling year gives you.
Before you rebook
