Claude certification exam policies: the rules on fees, dates, conduct and appeals

Claude certification exam policies are identical across the four exams. Fees are $99 for CCAO-F, $125 for CCDV-F and CCAR-F, and $175 for CCAR-P; the pass mark is 720 of 1,000 in 120 minutes; a credential lasts 12 months and a registration lasts five years. Retake waits run 14, 30 and 90 days with four attempts per rolling year. Reschedule at least 48 hours out, bring matching government photo ID, and appeal within 14 days.

Registration is valid for five years

Registering and scheduling are separate acts. You register and pay on the Anthropic Partner Academy, which needs a work email on a company domain recognised in the Claude Partner Network (FAQ Q5); the confirmation email then links to Pearson VUE's ANTHROPIC sign-in page. FAQ Q12 ("How long do I have to take the exam after I register?") is the rule most people never read: a registration stays valid for five years. That is why cancelling an appointment costs nothing by itself, and why a refund is a separate request rather than a consequence.

Reschedule, cancel, refund and no-show: the fee rules

Reschedule and cancel

The four v1.0 guides say, in identical wording, that you may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before the appointment and that changes inside 24 hours forfeit the fee. The Pearson VUE Anthropic page says test-centre appointments can be changed up to 48 hours before, and FAQ Q20 says an exam cannot be cancelled or rescheduled less than 48 hours prior. Work to 48: the system holding your appointment is the one enforcing it.

Refunds

What the sources publish is narrow. FAQ Q21: cancelling in Pearson does not trigger a refund; if you no longer plan to sit, email certifications-support@anthropic.com. The guides: refusing the confidentiality agreement ends the session with no refund. The exam policy: misconduct sanctions carry no obligation to refund. What no source publishes: a processing time, a partial-refund schedule, or the conditions for granting a request.

No-show and late arrival

A Claude certification no-show forfeits the fee, and arriving after the permitted late-arrival window counts the same (Section 11 of the CCAO-F, CCDV-F and CCAR-P guides, Section 12 of CCAR-F's; FAQ Q46). To sit again you re-register and pay again. No guide publishes the length of that window, so the appointment time is the deadline. A failed attempt is about timing rather than money: the retake waits and attempt cap have their own post.

Conduct rules and the Claude exam policy

The Anthropic Certification Exam Policy, last updated 25 June 2026, is part of the terms you accept at registration. Section 1 makes every item confidential. Section 2 prohibits impersonation, misrepresenting your country, altering a score record, work that is not your own, AI products during the exam, giving or receiving help, seeking leaked content, unauthorised items or a second monitor, reverse engineering, and unscheduled breaks. Section 3 lets proctors verify identity and record the session.

The sanctions match the list: suspension or a permanent ban, a forced retake, an invalidated result, exclusion from the programme, and a credential withheld or revoked, with no obligation to refund. Appeals within 14 days

Section 4 of the exam policy lets you appeal five kinds of final decision: being suspended or banned from exams, being told to retake one, having a result changed or voided, being removed from the programme, and having a credential refused, suspended or revoked. The deadline is 14 calendar days from receiving notice; later requests may not be granted. The guides add the route (Section 15): send the appeal to Pearson VUE support, and for a result concern the 14 days run from the exam date. Two things are outside the process: the standard-setting outcome, meaning the 720 cut score, and the content of individual items.

Accommodations: request them 10 or more days ahead

Section 7 of the exam policy says an accommodation request, with supporting documentation, must be approved before you schedule, and that the delivering platform reviews it. The guides name Pearson VUE, via its test-taker accommodations page, and say not to book until approval arrives. FAQ Q45 puts a number on it: 10 days or more before the date you intend to sit. So the order is register, request, wait, then schedule. A name that does not match your ID is a separate fix: email certifications-support@anthropic.com with the subject line "Name Correction Request" at least 24 hours ahead (FAQ Q24).

Results and the score report

The score appears on screen when the exam ends, and test-centre candidates also receive a printed report (FAQ Q30). A copy is emailed and stays in your Pearson web account (FAQ Q33). The report carries pass or fail, the scaled score from 100 to 1,000, and the percentage correct per domain. The domain percentages play no part in the pass decision, which rests on the total scaled score alone.
