Claude Certification Guide
What a Claude certification actually costs
Exam fees are only part of the picture — partner-tier discounts, retake rules and the 12-month renewal window all change what you actually pay. Here is the full cost model.

The discount most people miss
Exam pricing follows your organization's Claude Partner Network tier. Registered-tier partners pay list price, but Select, Preferred and Global Premier partners receive 50% off. The discount is applied automatically based on your organization's standing, so it is worth confirming your tier internally before anyone on your team pays full price — across a team of engineers this is usually the largest single saving available.
Retakes are full price — plan around it
There is no discounted retake, and the waiting period grows with each attempt:
The practical implication: the cheapest exam is the one you pass first time. Sitting it before you are consistently clearing the mark in timed practice risks both the fee and up to three months of waiting.
Renewal: free on time, full price if you lapse
Claude certifications are valid for 12 months. Renewing on time means reviewing what has changed and completing a free, non-proctored assessment. Letting it lapse means retaking the full proctored exam at full cost — so a missed calendar reminder is effectively a $99–$175 mistake. Set the reminder the day you pass.

How much does a Claude certification cost?
As of July 2026, list prices are $99 for Associate – Foundations, $125 for Developer – Foundations, $125 for Architect – Foundations and $175 for Architect – Professional, in USD before any partner-tier discount. Confirm current pricing at registration.
Are there discounts on Claude certification exams?
Yes, and they are substantial. Discounts follow your organization’s Claude Partner Network tier: Registered-tier partners pay full price, while Select, Preferred and Global Premier partners receive 50% off. Check your organization’s tier before paying full price.
How much does a Claude certification retake cost?
A retake is the full exam fee, with your partner-tier discount applied. There is no reduced retake rate, which is a good reason to sit the exam only once you are consistently passing timed practice.
How many times can I retake a Claude certification exam?
Up to four attempts per exam in any rolling 12-month period, with escalating waiting periods: 14 days after a first failure, 30 days after a second, and 90 days after a third.
Does a Claude certification expire, and does renewal cost anything?
Certifications are valid for 12 months. Renewing on time is done through a free, non-proctored assessment. If you let it lapse, you have to retake the full proctored exam at full price — so the cost of missing the renewal window is the entire exam fee.
