Claude Certification Guide
What a Claude certification actually costs
Exam fees are only part of the picture — partner-tier discounts and the retake rules change what you actually pay, and a retake costs the same as a first attempt. Here is the full cost model.

The discount most people miss
Exam pricing follows your organization's Claude Partner Network tier. Registered-tier partners pay list price, while Select, Preferred and Global Premier partners receive 50% off. A temporary 100% waiver for Global Premier ran to 31 August 2026 and has now ended, so the standard 50% rate is what applies today. The discount is applied automatically based on your organization's standing, so confirm the live terms before anyone on your team pays list price.
Retakes are full price — plan around it
There is no discounted retake, and the waiting period grows with each attempt:
The practical implication: the cheapest exam is the one you pass first time. Sitting it before you are consistently clearing the mark in timed practice risks both the fee and up to three months of waiting.
Renewal: free on time, full exam after a lapse
A Claude certification is currently valid for 12 months from the date you earn it. Renew on time and Anthropic says the process is a free, non-proctored assessment covering what changed since you certified. Let it lapse and you must retake the full proctored exam at the applicable exam price. Put the renewal date in your calendar as soon as you accept the badge.

Are there discounts on Claude certification exams?
Yes. Registered-tier partners pay full price. Select, Preferred and Global Premier partners all receive 50% off. A temporary 100% waiver for Global Premier ran to 31 August 2026 and has now ended. Check the live FAQ before paying.
How much does a Claude certification retake cost?
A retake is the full exam fee, with your partner-tier discount applied. There is no reduced retake rate, which is a good reason to sit the exam only once you are consistently passing timed practice.
How many times can I retake a Claude certification exam?
Up to four attempts per exam in any rolling 12-month period, with escalating waiting periods: 14 days after a first failure, 30 days after a second, and 90 days after a third.
Does a Claude certification expire, and does renewal cost anything?
Yes. The current credential is valid for 12 months from the date earned. On-time renewal is a free, non-proctored assessment. If the credential lapses, you must take the full proctored exam at the applicable price to regain certified status.
