# Claude certification ID requirements: what to bring, what must match, and how accommodations work

Claude certification ID requirements are short but unforgiving: one valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID whose name matches your registration exactly, and a minimum age of 18. Accommodations need Pearson VUE approval before you schedule, so start early.

1 government photo ID · Exact name match · 10+ days for accommodations

Claude certification ID requirements are the same for all four exams: present one valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID, and the name on it must match your Pearson VUE registration exactly. You must be at least 18. If the name is wrong, email certifications-support@anthropic.com before you schedule, because a mismatch found at check-in means you cannot test and the fee is forfeited. Accommodations are requested through Pearson VUE and must be approved before you book, so allow ten days or more.

## Claude certification ID requirements at a glance

The identification section is worded identically in the [CCAO-F](https://credfarmer.com/certifications/claude-certified-associate-foundations), [CCDV-F](https://credfarmer.com/certifications/claude-certified-developer-foundations), [CCAR-F](https://credfarmer.com/certifications/claude-certified-architect-foundations) and [CCAR-P](https://credfarmer.com/certifications/claude-certified-architect-professional) exam guides, online or at a test centre. The table adds what the guides leave out, the age rule and the accommodation lead time, which live in the [Partner Academy certification FAQ](https://anthropic-partners.skilljar.com/page/faq-certifications) and on Pearson VUE's programme pages. Checked against the official sources on 17 September 2026.

| Rule | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| Document | One valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID. Digital, damaged, copied and privately issued IDs are refused. |
| Name | Must match the name on your Pearson VUE registration exactly, spelling included. |
| Age | You must be at least 18 years old to sit any Claude Certification exam. |
| Corrections | Email certifications-support@anthropic.com before you schedule. Requests typically take 24 to 48 business hours. |
| Mismatch at check-in | Pearson VUE will not let you test, and the exam fee is forfeited. |
| Accommodations | Requested through Pearson VUE and approved before you schedule. Plan for 10 days or more. |

The exam policy adds the enforcement side: section 3 lets proctors verify your identity at any point against a valid, unexpired government ID in the registration name, and section 2 lists using an ID that is not yours as misconduct that can invalidate a result. Eligibility to register at all is a separate question, covered in the [Claude certification eligibility guide](https://credfarmer.com/guides/claude-certification-eligibility): you need a work email on a recognised Claude Partner Network company domain.

## Which IDs Pearson VUE accepts for a Claude exam

The exam guides say only "government-issued photo identification" and leave the list to Pearson VUE. Pearson's [Anthropic OnVUE page](https://www.pearsonvue.com/us/en/anthropic/onvue.html) carries it. As of 17 September 2026 it accepts an international passport; a plastic driving licence; a national, state, provincial or EU identity card; an alien registration card, meaning a green card, permanent resident card or visa; approved Aadhaar cards; non-US military ID including spouse and dependent cards; and a Japanese employee or student ID presented with a Japanese Health Insurance Eligibility Certificate.

The refusals matter as much as the list. Expired, digital, damaged, copied or privately issued IDs are not accepted, nor are birth certificates, naturalisation papers or Canadian health insurance cards. A photo of your passport on your phone is a digital ID and fails. If your only document is not listed, ask Pearson VUE through the [Anthropic programme page](https://www.pearsonvue.com/us/en/anthropic.html) before you book. For a test centre, follow the identification instructions in your confirmation email.

**18+** minimum age

**10+** days for accommodations

## Fixing a Claude certification name mismatch before you schedule

The rule is exact match, not close match. A registration that reads "Jon" against a passport that reads "Jonathan" fails it, as does a dropped middle name or a surname that changed after the ID was issued. Anthropic controls the registration name, not Pearson VUE, so every correction goes to certifications-support@anthropic.com, before scheduling.

**Figure:** Exact match: schedule. Any difference: email certifications support first, then schedule

- NAME CHECK BEFORE YOU SCHEDULE
- Does your ID name match Pearson VUE?
- Matches exactly, spelling included
- Schedule
- Any difference:
- email support first
- Then schedule
- Corrections take 24 to 48 business hours

The correction goes to certifications-support@anthropic.com, not to Pearson VUE. A mismatch that reaches check-in unreported ends the appointment and forfeits the fee.

1

### Compare the two names character by character

Open your Pearson VUE profile and hold your ID next to it. A middle name on one but not the other, a hyphen, an accent or a maiden name are all mismatches under the exact-match rule.

2

### Email the correction before you schedule

Write to certifications-support@anthropic.com from the address your exam is registered with, using the subject line "Name Correction Request". Give your first and last name exactly as printed on the ID, label which is which, and use Latin characters only.

3

### Wait for confirmation, then book

Anthropic says corrections typically take 24 to 48 business hours. If you have already scheduled, the FAQ asks for the request at least 24 hours before the appointment and warns that later requests may not be applied in time.

A Claude certification name mismatch is the one exam-day failure with no recovery path on the day: the FAQ is explicit that Pearson VUE will not seat you and the fee is forfeited. Compare the names when you create the Pearson VUE account, and again before you pay for the appointment.

## How to request Claude exam accommodations

Reasonable accommodations are available for documented disabilities and needs, in line with applicable law. The exam guides set the sequence: request them from Pearson VUE, obtain approval, and only then schedule. The exam policy explains why the form lives on [Pearson VUE's Anthropic accommodations page](https://www.pearsonvue.com/us/en/test-takers/accommodations/pearson_approve.anthropic.html) rather than in the Partner Academy: where a third-party platform delivers the exam, that platform reviews and administers the request.

**Figure:** Submit the request with documentation, allow ten business days for review, receive the determination by email, then schedule

- ACCOMMODATIONS, IN ORDER
- Request · Submit request and evidence
- Review · Allow 10 business days
- Decision · Determination sent by email
- Book · Then schedule the exam

Pearson VUE's review window is the only timed step. Anthropic's FAQ rounds the whole sequence to "10 days or more" before the date you intend to sit.

Pearson's process runs through its Reasonable Adjustments Request System: create a login, start a request, upload supporting documentation such as a diagnostic report or a detailed letter from a qualified professional, and submit. Pearson asks you to allow 10 business days for review and sends the determination by email with scheduling instructions if approved. Neither the guides nor the FAQ list which accommodations exist, so ask Pearson VUE directly if you need something specific such as extra time or a separate room.

## What happens at check-in

Online, Pearson asks you to begin check-in 30 minutes before the appointment. OnVUE runs its technology checks, photographs you and your ID, and walks you through a 360-degree room scan. The ID photograph is where the name comparison happens, so have the physical document out of its sleeve. The full timeline, room rules and prohibited items are covered in [what Claude certification exam day looks like](https://credfarmer.com/blog/claude-certification-exam-day).

At a test centre, staff verify the ID against the booking when you arrive, following your confirmation email. In both modes the check can be repeated: the exam policy allows proctors to verify identity during the session, not only at the start.

## The rules that forfeit a fee

Three identification and scheduling failures cost the full fee: an unreported name mismatch at check-in, a no-show, and arriving after the permitted late-arrival window. [The reschedule cutoff](https://credfarmer.com/blog/reschedule-or-cancel-claude-certification-exam) is the fourth, and the sources disagree: the v1.0 exam guides say changes are free up to 24 hours before the appointment, while pearsonvue.com and the Partner Academy FAQ say 48 hours. Treat 48 hours as the deadline.

### Fix the name before you pay for the appointment

Every other identification problem can be caught early and corrected for free. A name mismatch discovered at check-in is the one that cannot: the appointment ends, the fee is gone, and you buy the next attempt at the full price less any partner-tier discount.

The guides treat a forfeited fee as a re-registration rather than a failed attempt; the [retake waiting periods](https://credfarmer.com/blog/failed-the-claude-certification-what-next) are written for candidates who sat and did not pass. Either way it means a new purchase at $99 for CCAO-F, $125 for CCDV-F and CCAR-F, or $175 for CCAR-P before your tier discount. The [Claude certification study guide](https://credfarmer.com/blog/how-to-study-for-the-claude-certification) covers the weeks before the appointment, and the [Certification Exam Policy](https://everpath-course-content.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com/instructor%2F34hhd92iyp94a0gtbr15cy5jk%2Fpublic%2F1782870704%2FAnthropic+Certification+Exam+Policy.pdf) is the document the identity and accommodation rules come from.

## Key takeaways

- **One valid, unexpired, government photo ID**, physical not digital, matching your Pearson VUE registration name exactly.
- **Corrections go to certifications-support@anthropic.com before you schedule.** Allow 24 to 48 business hours, never less than 24 hours before an appointment.
- **You must be 18 or older.** The rule is in the Partner Academy FAQ, not the exam guides.
- **Accommodations are approved first, scheduled second.** Pearson VUE needs 10 business days to review, and cannot add them to an existing booking.
- **A mismatch at check-in forfeits the fee.** So do a no-show, a late arrival and a change inside the reschedule cutoff; use 48 hours.

## Settle the paperwork, then rehearse the paper

Once the name matches and any accommodation is approved, the remaining variable is the exam itself. Cred Farmer's free timed CCAO-F mock runs without an account. It is practice, not exam data, and a practice score is not a readiness verdict.

Questions

## Frequently asked

Short answers to the questions this post leaves open.

**What ID do I need for a Claude certification exam?**

One valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID whose name matches your registration exactly. For OnVUE, Pearson VUE lists an international passport, a plastic driving licence, a national, state, provincial or EU ID card, a permanent resident card, an approved Aadhaar card and non-US military ID. Digital and expired documents are refused.

**What happens if my name does not match my ID at check-in?**

You will not be allowed to test, and Anthropic says the exam fee is forfeited under Pearson VUE policy. The check happens before the exam starts, so a mismatch is discovered too late to fix. Compare the names when you register, not on the morning of the appointment.

**How do I correct the name on my Claude certification registration?**

Email certifications-support@anthropic.com from your registered address with the subject "Name Correction Request", giving your first and last name exactly as they appear on your ID in Latin characters. Do it before scheduling. Anthropic says corrections typically take 24 to 48 business hours to apply.

**Is there a minimum age for the Claude certification exams?**

Yes. The Partner Academy FAQ states that you must be at least 18 years old to take a Claude Certification exam. The rule is not printed in the v1.0 exam guides, which is why candidates miss it, but it applies to all four certifications in both delivery modes.

**How far ahead should I request Claude certification testing accommodations?**

Anthropic asks for 10 days or more, and Pearson VUE asks you to allow 10 business days for the review itself. Approval must come before you schedule, so the safe plan is to submit the request and supporting documentation two to three weeks before the date you want to sit.

**Can I add accommodations to an exam I have already scheduled?**

No. Pearson VUE states that accommodations cannot be added to a previously scheduled exam, and the exam guides say not to schedule until the request is approved. If you booked first, cancel outside the reschedule cutoff, obtain approval, then book the accommodated appointment.
